Visiting Taman Ayun Temple in Bali 💖💚

Hello All! Today I'm going to show you my visit to Taman Ayun Temple 😆! This is a pretty popular destination in Bali, but at this season, it isn't as crowded as it used to be; probably because of the temperature. Anyway, there's going to be a few things I'll discuss here, so scroll!

1. Place & Location
I am going to put the location at the end of the post, but you know, this temple is located in Badung, Bali. Other than its historical presence, this temple is also famous for its water system. This water system is called: Subak; it leads to various paddy fields nearby. These water system are seen surrounding the temple like a canal.

Open Hour: 08:00-18:00 WITA. The open hour for every day is the same.
Entrance Fee: Adult (IDR 30K), Children (15K). Price is different between locals and tourists, so you might want to put that on your note. Not only that, teenagers age 14+ is considered an adult.
They provided complimentary sarongs (sheath) and is not mandatory, but customers are advised to wear something proper.

2. Ambience and Touring!

Taman Ayun
Wantilan
Taman ayun is divided into three courtyard, also called Mandala. The courtyard entrance is called :
Nista Mandala.
The first gate, is a part of this mandala wher you need to walk on a bridge across a pond to the entrance gate. It's not really fair if I called it a pond, since it joins a big water mouth surrounding the palace (hence, why it's called Water Temple). Another thing you can see in this area, is a fountain that points to 9 wind/cardinal direction. Whereas on the right side, you are going to see a Wantilan, which is a place where cockfights are held. Beside it is a building called Bale Pengubengan where they depict 9 Hindu Gods, referred to as Dewata Nawa Sanga.

Second Gate
Now, Central Coutyard. You see the big gate shown above? Well, it's part of the central coutyard in which the door is opened during a ceremony. The big path up front is where dance and celebrations are held during the celebration.

But inside the gate is another part, which is Utama Mandala. Now you can't open the door in order to see it, you have to walk around. This Mandala is the holliest out of all of them, as holy shrines are there and this is a place where they conduct mass prayer. You can see this at a certain time.

Utama Mandala
If you keep walking around the Utama Mandala, on the right side is a path towards some sort of house. Inside this small house is information about the place and maps. The small building (actually it'll be more proper if I call it a house), is connected to another small house. Here, there will be seats for you to enjoy a documentary of the place.

Everything I have explained here is from the video! Anyway, on the left side, there will be a small door for you to go.

3. Review
I didn't stay there for too long, because I had more places to go. But if you go there, make sure to really walk to all corners, because there are a lot of things to see; especially if you didn't book a tour guide like me. If you are in a group, make sure to chat quietly because maybe some people are praying there. I really like this place and I kinda wish I stayed there a little longer, they sometimes conducted a ceremony and make sure you are around when it happened!

Thank You for reading today's post, stick around to see another one!
